“I am most
inspired by
nature and wildlife, but once
in my head, I see it in a new
light. While I strive for a certain amount of realism, I add
my own stylization creating something that did not exist before.
My work spans over wildlife, fantasy and children's art.
I feel that artwork is not about what is seen
on the canvas, but about the choices the artist made in order
to create the artwork. It is because of this belief that I
feel all kinds of art (abstract, illustrative) can all be
appreciated for showing the choices each artist makes.” |

There have been many artists who have influenced
me: Robert Bateman, Daniel Merriam, Michael Parkes, Brom, John Jude
Pallencar, Arthur Rackham, Lane Smith, Chris Van Ahlsberg, David
Wiesner, and many more.
Other sources of inspiration are my husband and family, running
horses, my pet critters, flannel sheets, sushi and a good read.
